Kind of strange isn’t it??
The internet search engine Technorati states it is currently tracking over 112.8 million blogs. The China Internet Network Information Center indexed 72.82 million Chinese blogs. These are just the big boy networks! I haven’t even mentioned all the local social networks like hyves.nl with more than 5 million Dutch members who also have the possibility to host a free blog there. So, it’s a tad bit strange when you realize there many people who still don’t have a clue about what a blog is. You would be surprised to know just how many there are. We have people close by that think that my girlfriend and I are building “blocks” on the internet…. Hmmm.
The myths of the Blogosphere.
There are so many myths about blogging and weblogs; I have heard some pretty odd stuff over the years. One is that blogging is only done by teenagers, while the majority of all bloggers are between 35 and 50 years old. I’ve heard how creating a blog is difficult and you need to be a web designer to create a nice one, and that blogging takes up all your time. Some even say you can only blog if you are specialist in something.
Hi, I have a question…
I have received many e-mails from people that where just beginning to blog. I have looked at the most common questions, and have noticed that most were about blogging or how to make money online with blogging. I’ve also browsed through the blogging sections of some of the largest webmaster forums found on the web and I’ve gathered a list with the 15 most frequently asked questions about blogging.
Let the real professionals guide you.
Below you’ll find the list I’ve compiled. I’ve taken the time to ask these questions to some important players in the Blogosphere; those who have earned the respect of other bloggers. They could have done this by writing great articles and stories about the Blogosphere, or they may have helped others in building a successful blog and helped them in moving up the cyber-ladder. Others might be great in monetizing their blogs or they are talented with developing new tools. They all are experts in their profession and these people matter in the Blogosphere… they certainly have earned my respect. I have learned an abundance from them and I hope you will too.
Have fun learning more about blogs, blogging and the Blogosphere.
